Job Description:

Job Title: Administrative Assistant (Government Contractor)
Work Schedule: Full-Time
Location: Christiansted, St. Croix (US Virgin Islands Army National Guard)
Start Date: Immediate Opening/Hire
Who May Apply: All U.S. Citizens
Key Requirement: Must possess a security clearance; OR be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

The incumbent of this position will provide support to the Recruiting and Retention Battalion. The incumbent will perform the following tasks:

  • Attends and actively participates in scheduled meetings.
  • Prepare and send correspondence, ensuring compliance with current regulations, policies and directives.
  • Answer inquiries relating to administrative policies and procedures.
  • Review all outgoing correspondence for completeness, grammatical accuracy, spelling, punctuation and conformance with current policy and required format.
  • Maintain office files in accordance with applicable regulations; and ensuring timely response to suspense actions.
  • Review and distribute incoming mail.
  • Prepare and distribute required forms as directed by the Recruiting and Retention commander.
  • Maintain personnel and financial data records for members of the Recruiting and Retention Force.
  • Prepare presentations, briefings and administrative reports as directed.
  • Assist in resolving pay problems for members of the Recruiting and Retention Force.
  • Manage and maintain a master calendar.

 

Other: Preference: Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • Active or former member of the United States military.
  • Resident of the Virgin Islands.

Skills Required

Qualifications Required:

  • Familiarity with Army Regulation 25-50.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience utilizing Microsoft Office Professional, to include Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word;
  • Strong communication skills orally and in writing and must be capable of working with a diverse population.
  • Excellent analytical, research and problem solving capabilities; and
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task projects simultaneously.
