Job Description:

 FOR PER DIEM (SATURDAY CLINICS)

Major Tasks include, but not limited to: 

  1. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care and services given.  Teaches and demonstrates aspects of treatment and care.
  2. Administers medication and treatments in accordance with prescribed medical instructions or established protocols.
  3. Maintains clinic records in accordance with standard protocol for documentation.
  4. Collaborates with physician and other team members in providing nursing care.
  5. Assist with orientation of new nursing personnel; directs ancillary nursing staff.
  6. Participate in committees as requested to include Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
  7. Participates in continuing education programs.
  8. Responds to emergencies and disasters as directed.
  9. Performs other related tasks as required.

Skills Required

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Graduated from an accredited professional school of nursing
    • Holds a current RN license from the Virgin Board of Nurse Licensure
    • Holds a current CPR and ACLS and or PALS certificate;
    • Has at least three years experience as a Registered Nurse

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         Knowledge of the theories and practices of professional nursing

·        Hands-on experience with EHR software.

·         Skills in maintaining records and practice reports, i.e. nursing care plan.

·         Ability to promote and maintain continuity of care within the patient care setting.

·         Ability to plan and assess immediate and long term goals for the patient care.

·         Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
