WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:
Leading a tour is a combination of quick thinking, advanced storytelling, and herding a group from one location to the next. We provide you all the training and get you up to speed on the knowledge of Charlotte Amalie and its incredible foods. COMPENSATION 

  • Tour guides are paid per person PLUS tips 
  • During training period compensation is minimum wage. 
  • Must be available to work 4 days a week, 1 to 2 tours per day, including Saturday and Sunday.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have greater flexibility to take on extra shifts on short notice, as well as additional shifts in the busy winter months. 
  • Ideal candidate would have opportunities for long term growth

Skills Required

Position: TOUR GUIDE 
Employment type: PART TIME 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluent English
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Minimum 1 year living in St Thomas
  • Must be available at least 4 days a week 8:30am - 6pm (Flexible schedules preferred) 
  • Own a smartphone with internet access 
  • Check your email at least once per day
  • High energy level
  • Excellent communication, quick thinking, and problem solving 
  • Must be able to be on your feet and walking constantly for up to 3-4 hours straight, on a regular basis. 
  • Have strong knowledge of the St Thomas & Charlotte Amalie dining scene (both expensive and inexpensive), tourist attractions, and how to navigate the city by foot, bus, and car to get from location to location. 
  • Will need to complete a non-compete agreement prior to employment. 
  • Previous tour guiding experience is not required.
