Job Description:
Carpenter A Carpenter is responsible for performing duties associated with carpentry, such as wood framing, metal framing, concrete formwork, cabinet and millwork installation. Reports: Jobsite Labor Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager RESPONSIBILITIES · Cover surfaces with laminated plastic covering material. · Cut timbers, lumber and/or paneling to specified dimensions, and drill holes in timbers or lumber. · Hold plumb bobs, sighting rods, and other equipment, to aid in establishing reference points and lines. · Position and hold timbers, lumber, and paneling in place for fastening or cutting. · Select tools, equipment, and materials from storage and transport items to work site. · Align, straighten, plumb and square forms for installation. · Cut and install insulating or sound-absorbing material. · Cut tile or linoleum to fit, and spread adhesives on flooring to install tile or linoleum. · Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces. · Fasten timbers and/or lumber with glue, screws, pegs, or nails, and install hardware. · Glue and clamp edges or joints of assembled parts. · Construct forms. · Install handrails. · Perform tie spacing layout, then measure, mark, drill and/or cut. · Secure stakes to grids for constructions of footings, nail scabs to footing forms, and vibrate and float concrete. · Smooth and sand surfaces to remove ridges, tool marks, glue, or caulking. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Must work quickly, productively and safely without error and consistently meet the production goals as set by the Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager. 2. Must consistently produce quality workmanship as judged by Company standards as well as those set forth by the clients. 3. Must have reliable transportation and show up to work on time every day. 4. Must possess a current and valid driver’s license in order to operate any company vehicles. 5. Must be willing to travel to any and all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary). 6. Must comply with all company safety and personnel policies. 7. Must be able to occasionally lift and carry 60 lbs. 8. Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain in order to access equipment, tools, materials, and jobsite in order to complete work. 9. Must be able to work overtime. |
