Job Description:

High Tide Solutions is currently seeking an experienced, courteous and professional low voltage cable technician to join our team!

The technician is responsible for the installation, modification and repair of new and existing voice, video and data cabling infrastructures in accordance with company standards for quality and service. The technician is responsible for the proper assessment and survey of sites to determine best work methods, required tools, materials, etc.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Install, terminate and repair copper cable systems. Test and troubleshoot issues with network connectivity. Pull, route and label category 5/6 cables. Terminate jacks, install j-hooks, and other related cable support structures. Clearly communicate with team members or a supervisor as needed to drive the completion of the work. Facilitate moves/adds/changes pertaining to network equipment (switches, routers, etc.) that interfaces with the cabling infrastructure.

Skills Required

The candidate MUST have at least 2 years hands on experience with the following:

Patch panel installation and termination/punch downs

RJ-45 connector and jack terminations

Cable management techniques for aesthetics

Rack installs/builds

Firm understanding of ANSI/TIA standards for copper cable termination and labeling

Experience with cable testing equipment and certification tools

Cable pulling through conduits and ceilings spaces while adhering to industry best practices

Required Skills or Job Requirements:

Must be able to work independently and complete jobs from start to finish.

Ability to quickly learn commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in the low voltage cabling installation field.

Must be comfortable working on ladders at heights of up to 20 feet and working from a man lift at heights of up to 40 feet.

Must be able to lift or carry loads up to 50 pounds.

Must have reliable transportation.

Must be willing to travel within the Territory.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must be able to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening.

Other Desired Skills:

Experience with termination of fiber optic cabling a plus.

BISCI certifications a plus.

Experience with configuration of routers, switches and firewalls a plus.

Network or IT related certifications a plus.
