Linepersons are responsible for preparing the outside plant facilities for delivery of service for Telephone and Cable TV services for home and business subscribers.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
·Set up service for customers, installing, connecting, testing, or adjusting equipment
·Drive vehicles equipped with tools and materials to job sites
·Run aerial and underground cables using hand tools or mechanical equipment
·String wire conductors and cables between poles, towers, trenches, pylons, and buildings, setting lines in place and using winches to adjust tension
·Dig holes to set Telephone poles utilizing heavy equipment to prepare facilities for services
·Access specific areas to string lines or install poles, auxiliary equipment, or appliances, using bucket trucks, or by climbing poles or ladders, or entering tunnels, trenches, or crawl spaces
·Lay underground cable directly in trenches or string it through conduits running through trenches
