Job Description:

Ocean Systems Laboratory of St. Thomas, Inc. is an EPA Certified Laboratory that performs both water and soil testing for various parameters. We are looking for qualified applicants for the position of Drinking Water Supervisor/Laboratory Supervisor.

The Drinking Water Supervisor will:

- Ensure that Quality Control and Quality Assurance parameters are being met for all samples being analyzed by the lab.

- Oversee the work of laboratory analysts, technicians and interns.

- Schedule external/contract sampling.

- Review data and generate reports.

- Maintain communication with clients for notification purposes and answers general questions.

- Ensure efficient work flow within the lab.

- Maintain personal certification and qualifications for analyzing all requisite parameters.

- Be able to perform all analyses carried out by the laboratory.

- Work with vendors to order supplies

- Schedule off-island testing.

- Effectively manage personnel and make decisions about hourly employee’s scheduling including overtime.

- Work with private entities, local and national government agencies.

- Follow rules and regulations put forth by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) as well as the Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resource (V. I. DPNR).

- Be able to work effectively with and manage contract samplers that deliver water samples to the laboratory to ensure that quality control parameters are being satisfied.

- Be able to work independently as well as take instruction from senior management/company owners.
