Technical Writer:

 

If you can document a wide array of technical materials by building strong relationships with multiple technical teams in a fast-paced software development arena, then we might have just the opportunity you’re looking for!

 

This diversified technical writing position requires a true team player. The successful candidate will be an experienced and diversified technical writer with at least 5 years solid, demonstrable experience in the software development / web portal fields. (No rookies please).

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

·              Use superior people skills to work with a broad range of stakeholders including: business analysts, business intelligence analysts, scrum masters, project managers, software developers and marketing department personnel

·              Consult with subject matter experts to understand technical specifications and requirements then translate them into visual aids that others will readily understand

·              Strong ability to analyze, interpret, simplify and document systems, workflows, processes, schema

·              Develop wire frames and mock ups to capture stakeholders visions of UI / UX layout such as user screens, finished software products

·              Create, organize, maintain and update multiple on-line and hard copy libraries for multiple products including:

o     How To guides for end users

o     How To guides for platform trainers

o     Technical manuals to support developers

o     Process mapping

·              Adhere to - and where necessary create - formatting, quality and accuracy standards and create & maintain version control

·              Create and re-use templates and art work generated by the marketing team

·              Able to plan, estimate and manage the generation, publication readiness and delivery of written hard copy and on-line documents

·              Report to Project Management team

 

Technical Skills:

 

·              Highly proficient with collaborative process mapping tools such as Visio, LucidChart, Gliffy and similar

·              Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, Photoshop, Google & standard online collaboration tools

·              Familiarity with Agile Development techniques. Preference given to candidates with experience supporting distributed Scrum teams

·              Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that ideas, layouts, processes and instructions, are fully captured and clearly articulated

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities REQUIRED:

 

·              Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field

·              Able to demonstrated success as a Technical Writer (please note we will require writing samples that demonstrate professional, comprehensible, intuitive, high-quality documentation skills)

·              Exceptional grammar, writing, and copy editing skills with attention to detail

·              Ability to collaborate with all levels of staff to include distributed team members in other countries to succinctly convey ideas, processes, requirements and more

·              Strong interpersonal and verbal communications skills and a pro-active “can do attitude
