Job Description:
Position Title: Assistant Librarian Location: Library of the US Courts; U.S.V.I. Starting Salary Range: CL28 (dependent on experience: $63,906 - $79,906) Position Type: Temporary, two year appointment; full time, 40 hours per week Closing Date: Open until filled Representative Duties: - Using electronic and print sources, performs legal and non-legal research and reference services for judges, court personnel, branch libraries, and other library users.
- Work as a team member in development of web-based and other electronic information delivery services and publications.
- Provide education and training to court staff on Lexis, Westlaw, the Internet, and other research sources.
- Develop training materials, library promotional materials, and research guides
- Develop collection; performs all required acquisition functions for library and chambers collections.
- Work as a team member in coordinating services with the Philadelphia library and other branch libraries throughout the circuit.
- Perform interlibrary loan transactions for court personnel.
- Oversee operations in St. Thomas and St. Croix libraries; weekly travel required.
- Stay current with new information sources and emerging technologies.
- Other Duties as assigned.
