Job Description:
Position Summary:This person assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties of the position and is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Schneider Regional Medical Center and their respective Department.Demonstrates clinical competence in the performance of clinical skills applicable to the Hemodialysis Unit. Accepts basic leadership roles and responsibilities which include and not limited to,teaching ancillary and other staff membersto meet the needs of clients, acts as a role model, participates in own evaluation and evaluation of others.Delegates tasks / assignments to staff as appropriate.Follows up on assigned tasks to insure successful patient outcomes. Demonstrates competency in orientation process of new hemodialysis patients including but not limited to Initial Nursing Assessment, Progress Note documentation including review of all treatment modalities, home medication review and additional patient education.

Hazards & Physical Requirements:Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a day, walk up to 4 hours a day, and sit for up to 4 hours a day.Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs and lift/carry up to 20 lbs on an occasional basis.Is aware of risk of exposure to communicable diseases; blood and/or body fluids.Education & Experience:Must have graduated from High School or obtained GED.Must have successfully completed an approved school of Nursing and successfully passed the licensure exam.Must have a current VI RN license.Specific Requirements: Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer BLS certification. Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with computers.
