University of the Virgin Islands Marketing & Sales Manager Category: Professional Location: St. Thomas Job Code: 0600384/120640 Department: Reichhold Administration Assignment: Under the direction of the Reichhold Center for the Arts [RCA] Director, the successful candidate will be working directly with RCA customers, seeking both "earned income" (ticket sales, sponsorships, concession and/or merchandise revenue) and "contributed income" (memberships, restricted grants)as appropriate. The candidate will supervise undergraduate student interns and/or graduate student fellows in these areas; create, implement and manage a comprehensive marketing and sales plan; draft and oversee development and production of all print and electronic materials; and create and manage a selective media schedule to ensure commercials reach the targeted audience. The candidate will also oversee and manage the RCA brand on the internet including conceptualizing look and content for the RCA website; work with Reichhold Center Managers to select shows and performances for the season; and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or Advertising is required. Knowledge of strategic marketing, media planning, writing, editing and publication management; knowledge of television, radio, newspaper, and social media industries, sales, marketing and media relations; must have past event marketing and/or sales experience; excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven understanding or how to employ electronic and social media tools; must be proactive and organized and have a successful track record in making sales; excellent editorial and graphic design skills; must display maturity and presence to appropriately represent UVI and RCA in direct dealings with media, artists and artists' representatives, corporate contacts, and high-net-worth individuals; familiarity with and a passion for UVI and for Caribbean culture; must be energetic, creative, and able to multitask. Compensation: *The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include a generous TIAA-CREF or the VI Government Retirement Plan as well as a comprehensive group medical, dental and life insurance program. *The salary is subject to a mandatory 8% reduction in accordance with the Virgin Islands Stability Act 7261. Travel & Shipping: If applicable, one-way economy airfare to St. Thomas for appointee and immediate family; and a shipping allowance based on policy will be paid by the University upon presentation of receipts.
