Viewed as one of the most premier jewelry and watch retailers in the Caribbean, Little Switzerland and Jewels are searching for a passionate and talented Associate Buyer to reside in St. Thomas, in the beautiful US Virgin Islands and lead all Merchandising initiatives necessary to execute the continued development and expansion of our Private Label diamond and gemstone assortments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Achieve sales and inventory plans.

·        Work with our corporate office to design and develop new styles to maximize sales.

·        Manage, coordinate and communicate the strategic direction of our Private Label diamond and gemstone assortments.

·        Partner with our Manufacturers, Store Operations and Marketing teams regarding mark-ups, merchandise flow and on-time merchandise delivery.

·        Coordinate with Corporate/manufacturers to obtain information concerning product, negotiated price, and the ability of vendor to provide product and delivery date.

·        Rebalance - Maximize turn on existing inventory.

·        Maintain current knowledge on product trends including competitive positioning of product categories.

·        Work with planning to effectively optimize forecasting, planning, and procurement parameters.

·        Maintain appropriate in stock levels in partnership with planning.

·        Monthly analysis by market and analysis of trends to fine-tune assortment and continue to build sales.

·        Annual planning to include assortments for each volume group and space restriction.
