Job Description:

Virgin Islands Behavioral Services (VIBS), a 30-bed behavioral health facility, with three out-patient programs and an educational component, has been providing quality health care to the residents of the Virgin Islands since 1995. Majority of the programs are located on St. Croix, with the exception of an out-patient program on St. Thomas. An interesting and challenging experience awaits you as an employee of VIBS. Virgin Islands Behavioral Services currently has a Teacher Assistant position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

1. Assists in the planning and implementation of the daily educational and behavioral program.
2. Tutors and assists students individually or in small groups in order to help them master assignments and reinforce learning concepts.
3. Facilitates activities that lead to emotional, intellectual and social development of students.

Skills Required

The following are the job requirements for the Teacher Assistant position:

1. Minimum of a High School diploma required

2. Capability to maintain effective relationships in a team-oriented environment.
3. Ability to enforce administration policies and rules governing students required.
4. Knowledge and experience educating students who have Individual Education Plans (IEPs) preferred.
