Position Summary
As a Senior Case Administrator, you will be required to work on a) client engagements and b) perform general office administration tasks under the supervision of more senior members of the team. You will typically undertake tasks such as gathering, organising and reviewing accounting and financial data, performing calculations, undertaking research and documenting your work.A major part of your roll will also involve participating in the completion of administration tasks that contribute to the orderly operation of the office. You will benefit from on-the-job coaching from experienced members of the team and will be supported in undertaking and/or continuing your studies toward an appropriate accounting qualification.You must exhibit a naturally inquisitive nature, good problem solving skills and an ability to apply your accounting skills to a range of restructuring and advisory matters.
You will be responsible for specific work streams on allocated matters and be expected to contribute to case strategy and the identification of work streams and to then progress all matters delegated to you as efficiently as possible and to take responsibility for ensuring that you deliver into the requirements and deadlines for the tasks.You will be expected to manage your time appropriately, prioritise work (with input from senior staff as necessary) and ensure that your supervisors are regularly updated on the status of work streams.
Should the British Virgin Islands team also include other junior administrative staff, you will also be expected to supervise and effectively delegate to those junior staff members.
You will be expected to understand references to the Insolvency and Business Companies Acts when made by others and to actively refer to these resources (amongst others) when considering tasks allocated to you and considering issues. You must also have a firm understanding of the nature of the various types of work FTI Consulting undertakes and be willing to continue to develop your commercial thinking.You will also be expected to know, at a high level, about the services that FTI Consulting offers as a whole and how these services may be used in different circumstances.
Skills Required
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyse financial statements and projections and assess business plans.
Reconstruct accounting records from incomplete information.
Participate in investigations and formal engagements.
Undertake company, industry and market research, including maintaining trackers regarding local IP appointments.
Perform financial, ratio and comparable company analysis, and basic financial modelling.
Document assumptions, methodology and information sources.
Work closely with colleagues on client matters.
Act as contact liaison between external parties and FTI.
Maintain accounting and statutory records.
Analyse and interpret historical financial, operational, and transactional data.
Apply relevant legislation such as Insolvency / Business Companies Act and case law where appropriate to component of engagements.
Assist with preparation of reports, written analysis, presentations, quantitative exhibits, and other client deliverables.
Actively monitor cases via use and completion of checklists and preparing statutory lodgments for review, as required.
Complete pre-appointment tasks such as performing conflict checks and preparing basic letters of engagement.
Maintain a professional image within the company and project the same to those outside of the company.
Attend and be an active participant/host as FTI Consulting marketing events to begin to develop professional contacts.
Interact with clients, including lawyers, in house counsel and senior accounting personnel.
Contribute to company initiatives and team development/ training activities.
Perform internal case administration tasks such as preparation of payment/receipt vouchers and bank reconciliations.
Perform general office administrative matters as appropriate.
Key Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
2-4 years of professional accounting experience.
Have started, or willing to start a post graduate accounting qualification such as CPA/CA/ACCA etc.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Financial modelling skills are desirable.
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
Sound knowledge of accounting principles.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications.
Eagerness to learn and the motivation to succeed.
Adaptability in a fast paced and dynamic working environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work with senior team members and the client in demanding and deadline-driven situations.
Strong work ethic, integrity and high level of professionalism.
Exhibit good organisational skills and effectively manage own time and workflow. Actively seeks input from senior members of staff to agree and prioritise workflow.
