Telecommunications Rigger / Tower Climbers -  US Virgin Islands

SUMMARY

We are looking for Riggers/Tower Climbers with proven track record of installation of RBS equipment, hardware/software upgrades in LTE. This position is primarily responsible for performing physical and mechanical activities, telecommunication infrastructure audits, and generators' repairs. This is a traveling position within US Virgin Islands (ST Croix and St John) on contract basis. Candidates are required to bring own tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

- Troubleshoot RBS issues, board issues (CBU/DUL, OBIF, RAX and TX). Understand and implement RAN, RF and Transmission designs

-Travel to sites to assess survey damage, take pictures, keep logs 

-Work on generators' repairs when needed

-Microwave alignments 

-Installation, maintenance and repairs of radio access nodes, core network transmission equipment on operational telecommunications networks 

-Interact with other technicians and customer's technical staff. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Climbing Certification such as ComTrain or similar

Certifications UMTS, LTE, WCDMA, GSM or similar

LTE RBS certified or similar experience

OSHA Training

 

 

 


Skills Required

Cell site installation experience

Knowledge of transport and Microwave, and fiber transmission concepts.

LTE and CDMA experience

Proficient in the use of windows 7, internet explorer and ipconfig

Working knowledge of Ericsson RBS Element Manager (EMAS) and Ericsson SmartLaptop

Flexibility in working hours, travel

Three or more years relevant industry experience

Electrical Trades qualification (Electrician) with some telecommunications experience

Two or more years of experience in a network rollout discipline

Experience integrating and troubleshoot Ericsson RBS (6201, 6101, 6601) cabinets and rack mounted equipment

ComTrain Climber Rescue Course or equivalent

5 years' experience climbing

Must be willing to climb tall structures in excess of 300 feet and work in all types of weather conditions.

Able to lift, carry, push, pull 75+ lbs.

Able to crouch, kneel, and twist throughout the work day.

Able to reach, grasp and climb with both hands.

Able to manipulate equipment and instruments with precise hand and finger movements.
