Job Description:

Math Teacher for Grades 7-12

The ability and willingness to approach mathematics from a practical, rather than a theoretical, viewpoint wherever possible.
Must have the ability to teach a practical Introduction to Economics class.
Must have the ability to teach a practical computing class that focuses on a hands-on approach to computer use.
Will be responsible for all curriculum development and instruction.
Must have a strong work ethic, commitment to team work, and love of teaching young people.
Must commit to incorporating positive behavioral support techniques into the classroom and all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
Willingness to maintain strong lines of communication with parents and colleagues.
Bachelor Degree or equivalent, preferably in Mathematics or related field.
A minimum of one year of teaching experience is required.

Skills Required

Fluent written and verbal English.
The ability to create detailed standards-based lesson plans that can be used to create an environment conducive to diversified learning styles.
Strong classroom management skills.
Strong time management skills.
Strong technology skills, including but not limited to:

The ability and willingness to incorporate interactive whiteboards and other forms of technology into lesson plans
Intermediate or higher skills in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
Working knowledge of the basic components of a standard computer set-up.
Knowledge of Basic, Java, C++, or other computer language is preferable, but not required.
Understanding of HTML, CSS, and other aspects of web design is preferable,
but not required.
