Job Description:

We are currently seeking a full-time Community Chapter Branch Manager in St. Thomas, USVI. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week and variable shifts as needed. 

Job Summary:
Provides leadership and management in planning, implementing, developing and reviewing the delivery of American Red Cross services for USVI Region’s strategic  plans, as well as the policies and procedures of the National American Red Cross.  Responsible for the oversight of the area’s resources and operations and the effective supervision of its paid and volunteer staff.

Responsibilities:
Acts as the main point of contact for the public, community, media and staff to ensure service delivery and resolve issues/concerns.  

Represents the Chapter and/or Region in the community, participating in community functions, developing and maintaining contact with the community leaders. 

Working with Financial Development and the Executive Director of the Chapter, develops strategies and initiatives to find financial development opportunities (fundraising) and to promote and recognize funding opportunities for the chapter and/or region.

Works to ensure that the assigned area follows all chapter, region, and ARC procedures and policies. 

Develops, communicates and implements ARC program services, priorities, goals and objectives. Ensures American Red Cross programs and services are available to the diverse communities served.

Actively participates in the delivery of all ARC services and programs. 

Provides leadership and supervision to the staff and volunteers, ensuring that their efforts are well-coordinated with the Chapter’s and/or Region’s strategic business goals. 

Ensures smooth flow of information (oral and written) between assigned area offices;

Plans and oversees budget and expenses for the assigned area.


Skills Required

Minimum Qualifications:
***Must be a resident of the US Virgin Islands***

Education:  Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:  Minimum of 2-5 years in implementing and advancing social service programs and  providing leadership to a department, program or service.  Experience in fund development and budget management.  Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong skills in planning and problem-solving.   Ability to relate well and effectively with diverse groups and individuals.  Must have a background and comfort level with fundraising.

Management Experience:  Minimum of 1 - 3 years staff management experience.    

Skills and Abilities:  Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals.  Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills to develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements.

Other:  Intermediate proficiency (or higher) with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.  Familiarity with federal, state and local employment laws.

Travel:  Will involve up to 25%, routine, travel to Puerto Rico, St. Croix and St. John.
