The Videoconferencing Support Specialist provides technical support for all videoconference rooms at the Barry University Physician Assistant site in the island of St. Croix. This position will also assist with on-going training sessions to the Barry faculty and staff on the use and effectiveness of videoconference technologies in education. The Videoconferencing Support Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Videoconferencing Services.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for testing the equipment prior to the beginning of a class
Assisting presenters with setting up presentations (USB drive, Document camera, DVD/VHS)
Starting the recording for video lecture archiving
Assisting with student laptop issues including spyware removal and wireless network settings Trouble shooting any audio, video or content sending/receiving issues during classes or meetings, if necessary
Responsible for set up/breakdown of all equipment after classes and meetings
Troubleshooting St. Croix faculty and staff PC hardware issues, phone issues, network issues, and videoconferencing issues.
Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate Division of Information Technology management structure
Logging all support incidents in the appropriate incident/problem management tracking system according to guidelines established by the Division of Information of Technology
Coordinating ad-hoc training needs for faculty and staff with main campus training unit
Performs other job related duties as assigned or required
Skills Required
Qualifications:
1.An Associate degree or vocational/technical school degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Management Information Systems is required.
