Job Description:
In general this position calls for a professional who is able to work with minimal supervision. The Bilingual Social Worker will deliver Intervention Services to victims of crime including: battered woman and their children, adult victims of sexual assault and or incest. Intervention Services consist of Individual Casework, Group Work, Advocacy, Court Related Support Services. -Work independently or with Therapist and Director in the delivery of all services. -Respond to emergencies. -Accompany and help clients gain access to court, health employment, and educational services when needed. -Complete assigned reports in a timely manner. -Lead support group(s) for Spanish speaking victims of domestic violence A strong belief that personal change is possible. A demonstrated capacity for empath and understanding of person(s) with troublesome problems from different racial socio-economic, geographic, and cultural backgrounds. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Openness to learning from clients, colleagues, staff and personnel from other community agencies. Quick responsiveness to emergencies and to clients with potential conflicts. Patience with person(s) in crisis. A positive view towards life. Health insurance opportunity. |
